Kris is IN!!!

I am so super excited that our hometown boy Kris Allen made it through!!! Tonight on American Idol, he was chosen as the 5th contestant to make it in the top 12. You have no clue how talented he his! They haven't profiled him much, but he is a great singer. I am so proud to see his confidence coming out. Simon said how last night he kinda came out of his shell, and it seemed he did. I remember hearing him do his first solo at church and he was so nervous. I remember telling Cabe what a good singer he was but he just seemed like a shy guy.

Isn't he just precious!! I think he will go far, because as the judges pointed out, the girls are going to love him. He has a sweet look to him that makes me see him as one of those recording artists that teen girls are in love with.

I don't really have a favorite that is going through next week. I'm now waiting for the wild card show to see who they bring back. I have some favorites that didn't make it like Megan Corkrey and Brent Keith. Who are you hoping to see in the top 12?

I'm so happy for Kris tonight!! I know this has to be such an overwhelming blessing to him.

How about his guy!?! I was laughing so hard at his performance. He does seem to have a good voice but I think he is more of an entertainer. Maybe NBC will pick him up for a new sitcom. I can see him in the next Napoleon Dynamite, can't you?

Kennedy is 3 Months

Kennedy had her three month birthday today!! My little baby is already growing up so much. She has let me baby her more than the other kids. I know that sounds crazy, because like she has a clue of anything she does. But seriously I think she knows she is the baby and she just milks it. I have held her as much as possible since she was born, and she still lets me swaddle her every night. Two things I love about newborns! I know how everyone comes up to you when you are pregnant and says "hold that baby while you can they grow up way to fast". I held my other kids probably as much as Kennedy, but I think every time I sit down with her I kiss her head and say "I love you and thank God you are here". One day when she is 3 yrs and not 3 months hopefully I can remember just what is was like to sit down and whisper stories in her little baby ears.

Kennedy's Favorite Things:
-Being swaddled. She cannot fall asleep unless she is in her special blanket wrapped up tight.
-Smiling. She is so bubbly! I can already tell she has such a laid back playful spirit.
-Pat-A-Cake. This game always makes her happy.
-Watching her brother and sister play. I think she will play really well with them. I can already picture her crawling after them.
-Mommy. I hate to brag a little, but she is a Mommy's girl. Okay so I love saying that! She definitely knows when momma is around and she makes sure I pay her attention.

Her and Daddy were having big talks about her three month birthday!

All the play wore her out

We had to celebrate with some special treats! My cookies never turn out, these were best I could get. Don't laugh! I have tried my aunt's recipe for years, and I'm just convinced she has some special ingredient she puts in there. Her cookies are the absolute best! I make myself sick every holiday at my granny's. The kids love it when we make these because they get so messy. It is fun, but my kitchen is one big disaster.

Insomnia

I don't have a clue why I am still wide awake and it is now 2 a.m. I wish I could say I was rocking my sweet baby, but she is sleeping beside me like an angel. I have no excuse for being up, except I have a horrible case of insomnia.

It has become irritating as you can imagine, going night after night with little to no sleep at all. I am up early with the kids and usually very grouchy and groggy. I don't understand why I can't sleep, but please if you would, and I know this sounds silly. But would you pray along with me that I can have rest. It is to a point that is really disturbing and even maybe a medical condition. I need to have my strength to take care of the kids each day, and I hate being sluggish and grumpy.

On a good note, since I'm up late I'm on of the first to read Angie's post tonight about her book deal! Praise Him!! I know I will be anxiously awaiting the publishing of Audrey's story. Maybe I can luck out and go to her book signing. You would think I'm asleep, because now I'm just dreaming. Her strength is beyond my comprehension. Spiritually and emotionally she is a true warrior. She is the type of Sunday I would love to have in my bible study group.

Duggars 20 and counting, Soffos 5 and um NO!

All weekend I was on the hunt for the Duggar Family Book: 20 and Counting. I love their show, and they are from my state so I feel I relate even more. No I don't have 18 kids, nor will I ever, but I believe in alot of their same family and religious values.

I found the book this afternoon and started reading it tonight. I have to say I was a little emotional as I started reading it. We are now officially done with having our own biological children, as of Friday. Going into it Cabe kept asking if I was okay with this. We knew it was best for our family, but we do have a love for children. Having 3 kids under 5 isn't an easy task by any means, but it is true blessings from God. Friday night as I was on the Duggar's website I saw some verses that really made me said in the fact that we had decided on no more children. I cried a little and then as I prayed I told Cabe how I never know what God has in store. I love listening to adoption stories and testimonies, this my be one of those steps on the path of God's plan.

I always love the kids a little more as they are quietly tucked in their beds sleeping like angels! Ha,ha!! I forget the reality of the crazy day, I just see my blessings. I think for now I'm pretty content with reading about an extremely large family and not having one. I do hope to gain some new information from their book.

1. They share how to be debt free. Plus, for that one!! (Don't know how they raise that many in today's society.)
2. Some great scripture on child rearing and family.
3. Frugal recipes and tips! Another plus!
4. Some homeschooling resources and scheduling.
5. I just am fascinated by them. Cabe thinks they are a little corny, but I find them interesting. They life a simple life, well as simple as it can be with 18 kids.

For sanity sake, the kids were put in bed early tonight, and I refreshed my mind by reading some stories of other people how have more madness than I do. I'll let the pictures tell it all.

Guilt written all over that face!

Lighting McQueen had some explaining to do.

The water had been let out some, can you see the stopper is pulled up. The floor was soaked, and they had toilet paper torn into a million pieces trying to mop up the overflowing sink. Why not a towel? I don't understand child logic, or if there was any!

This is the stack of bathroom cups that had to be thrown away. Those will be stored on a top shelf for a while.

Sunday sweeties

Isn't Miss Kennedy the cutest!?! She got so much love and kisses at church. Everyone just flipped over her in the hat. She didn't want to sit in church again today. Me and the same mom sat out the kid area with our girls. Both of us decided we are going to have to talk to the church staff about one of the TV's in the foyer featuring the service. We can listen the the whole sermon, but none of the TV's have it on. So for now I'm just a church going speaker listener! Ha!

Tonight we had pizza at my sister Kristy's house. We were really excited to visit with my Granny there. She lives in town, but with everyone being sick and us being busy we haven't seen her in about a month. She held Kennedy most of the night and loved on her.

Kensley clipped coupons with me and my sisters as the Awards played in the background. I wish I could say I saw at least one person win something, but with everyone in one house, not much TV gets watched. I wished I had a picture of Kensley sitting on the couch going through the coupons. She is so funny, I swear she is 30 in a 5 year olds body. She was tossing out coupons of items we don't use, and even handed me over an ad for the most old lady looking bra ever. You know those ones you see in the Sunday ads! Sweet thought, but I hope I still have more style in me than that. Ha!

V-day

Today was V-Day and I don't mean Valentines, it was the dreaded vascetomy day. Cabe did so much better than I expected. He was nervous out of his mind when he woke up.

We decided to go to Holly's for lunch, Cabe refered to it as the last supper. It was getting really close to time, so I sent Cabey into EM to spend his birthday certificates to ease his mind. I laughed so hard the other day while driving down the road Cabe started talking about how new shoes and clothes comforted him. Yes very usual for a man, but ever since I have know him he loves to dress in style.

After getting some new jeans the time had come to take the loopy pills. I got in the drivers seat and we were off. I was driving so like it or not we were headed to the doctors office.

Things went well and now we are enjoying a relaxing night of munching on snacks and watching movies. I had my parents come get Kensley and Klay so Cabe could relax. They were really hyper and everytime they ran through the living room Cabe would flinch thinking they were going to bump his chair.

It has been nice here with just us and Kennedy. Usually if we are alone we are out on a date somewhere. The house has been so queit and we even broke out the Ben and Jerry's and ate out of the carton. Things you get to do when kids aren't around!! How fun! My mom would die if she knew.

I'm so proud Cabe went through with it and he did really well. He was even laughing and making jokes with the doctor.

I'm off to get stuff done in my craft room while Cabe rests.

Finally POTTY TRAINED!!!! Yahoo!!

This was Klay signing his name on the potty chart on the 13th of January. He is fully potty trained now!! I am praising the Lord for that!!!! I would like to say I knew what got him potty trained but honestly I have no clue. It was just his time. We tried ever trick in the books, and even bribed the kid with toys and money. We have worked for over a year now, but I am glad to say he has been in nothing but undies for two weeks.

He has wet the bed three nights, so yesterday while at Wal-Mart I thought I would pick up some big boy night time pants. He cried and threw a fit in the middle of the aisle saying not to laugh at him, he was a big boy. Poor dear, I couldn't make him think he was a baby by going back to the diapers at night, so I'm just layering up mattress pads and hoping for the best. Also if you have ever seen the Good Night underpants for boys, they are just SAD!! They go up to 110 lbs. people and you would think since they are suppose to look like boxers for big kids they would be a diaper. But I'm telling you I couldn't bring myself to put Klay in those. Poor dears who have to wear them, the commercial shows big kids wearing them at sleepovers. That is just wrong!! Those kids would definitely be noticed with those bulky things on.

I am so very proud of Klay!! He has done it this time all on his own. He now tells us he needs to go and just takes himself. Even while at Wal-Mart yesterday he told me he needed to go. That within itself is a whole other post.

Happy Valentine's Day

I'm celebrating with all my sweeties today, and even my little K on her first V-Day. The kiddos and myself have enjoyed way too much chocolate and candy. I'm pretty sure Klay has had way too much since he is standing up in front of the fireplace butt naked with his airplane lollipop he got for Valentine's day cooling his little man off! Ha,ha! I'm serious, he is saying its hot and fanning himself. Sad thing is I don't know if its just regular Klay or the sugar talking. Hard to tell!

The kids loved playing with their cards. Klayton got a talking card from his Nana and Pop that he just adored. Kensley thought is was cool but you could tell she was a little upset she hadn't gotten one that talked. So Daddy and Klay had to get her the ultimate card. Hannah Montana that sings and plays a message from mommy and daddy. In her eyes that is the greatest thing on earth! Don't you just love the simple things in life!

I myself was quite excited to get my gifts too, even though I knew what they were. It may be too much information but last week all my bras went on the outs. I'm not kidding you! I woke up with the worst pinching pain in my side. It was my under wire cutting me to pieces. So I went to the closet to get another, what would you know but it too woke me up the next morning digging in my side. So after going through another two bras and figuring out they too had the wire coming out, I thought it was time for some new ones. Cabe ordered more of my favorites from VS, and I had to tease him because at Christmas time he had gone into the very uncomfortable store with both kids and asked the lady if they sold nursing bras. I about fell out of my chair when he was re-telling me the story! But low and behold when I got on the website to order some new ones, Victoria Secret now carries nursing bras. Cabe thinks its all because of him! Too funny!!

Happy Valentines Day everyone! Hope you all enjoy the ones you love in your life, and give them lots of hugs today!

Cabe and I are off to a nice dinner at Cajuns Wharf
Hugs and Kisses to all my family! Love you all!!

My new friend.....Rosie

Guess what was on my doorstep today....

This is Rosie, my new friend!!! Cabe is just so wonderful. The other night when we had company my sister mentioned her Roomba and how much she loved it. Cabe thought idea was ingenious and he just had to try it out. So this little package arrived today on my doorstep. So far I just love her! We named her Rosie, except Klay who calls her Wall-E. He even introduced his Wall-E to the new Wall-E, it was quite funny! While I cooked dinner tonight, my floors where vacuumed! How awesome is that?

YouTube Tuesday

I laughed so hard when I saw this!!! I mean I was on the floor rolling, Ellen has this contagious laugh that makes you chuckle. I love watching her show, and I'm so glad lately Kennedy has needed to be rocked around the time her show comes on, so I get to watch it for a few minutes. Also if you add Ellen as a friend on Facebook, you can win things. Happy Tuesday!
